Honoring the legacy of Olympic great Jesse Owens, a native of nearby Oakville who won four gold medals in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, the park features a replica of Jesse Owens' birthplace, a 14 1/2-foot statue of Owens, and a 1936 torch replica. The park also includes an interactive museum depicting key events in Owens’ life including race memorabilia. Isolated from city bustle, the Jesse Owens Memorial Park is 5 miles southeast of Moulton.
Park open daily. Museum, Home Replica and Welcome Center open Tue. - Sat. 10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Sun. - Mon. by appointment only.
